We became very creative in Houston because we only had the very basics while we were there. We made a treat almost every day and usually it was cookies. The bad part was that we would usually eat the whole patch of cookies that day!
The other thing that we did often was go to the children's museum, the girls loved it and they always had great activities. Usually we would get several to entertain us throughout the week!
